Here’s a look at our portfolio of award-winning steel buildings.
2022 Commercial Buildings 5,000-10,000 Sq Ft – 1st Place
The grounds offer beautiful scenery for outdoor events. The venue is able to accommodate the demands of any event. the interior furniture is sleek and features ample seating. Eagle’s Ledge also offers specialized bridal and groom suites that clients can take advantage of during their stay, either as ready-room or for private meetings.
2021 National Frame Building Association Annual Expo Building of the Year Award
The Hidden Acre Wedding and Event Center is located in Waverly, Iowa. This grand indoor/outdoor wedding & event center can accommodate 300 guests or more for wedding and receptions.
2021 Event Venue Building of the Year – 1st Place
This expansive and show-stopping event center is located in historic Galena, Illinois. This beautiful indoor/outdoor wedding and event venue measures 102′ x 116′ x 16′ and was a high-profile project in the area.
2021 Commercial Condo Building of the Year – 1st Place
This 48′ x 120′ x 16′ commercial condominium houses four local businesses and is one of the first structures built in Washington, Iowa’s new industrial park.
2018 Residential Garage of the Year – 2nd Place
This residential garage will be used as a place to park the owner’s personal vehicles, and a workshop to work on projects and storage. It is a stunning residential garage that showcases the beauty post-frame can
offer in a residential setting.
2018 Livestock Buildings of the Year – 1st Place
This 60′ x 208′ livestock facility was built for Stan and Jean’s sheep operation. Half of the building is lined and insulated to house lambing ewes. The other half of the building is separated with overhead doors into open air pens.
2018 Remodeled Building of the Year – 1st Place
The owners were looking to update their existing 30′ x 45′ x 10′ post frame buildings with a large 20′ x 15′ arcadian doors were a beautiful addition for added curb appeal. Greiner Buildings crews did an excellent job working the existing roofline into the new building.
2018 Hobby Garage of the Year – 2nd Place
The owners desired a family vacation Shome to enjoy on one of their rural farms, and host family and friend at parties and gatherings. They chose a large living and game room area with loft bedrooms to entertain. The design is a great alternative to a cabin, offering large clear span for openness to the owners’ beautiful farm and pond.
2017 Remodel Building of the Year – 1st Place
This mono-slope post-frame building addition provided new garage space with heated floors for the ambulance service, two bedrooms and full bath for employees. The existing building, which previously was the garage/office space, was converted to a training room, two offices, kitchen, lounge area and bath. The new and existing building were connected by a two-story entry tower to make the transition flow focally. The large windowed garage doors add natural light to the large shop area.
2017 Ag Storage/Workshop of the Year – 1st Place
This stunning building is the owner’s heated shop space and office. He chose to keep with the style of a traditional barn accenting it with large windows and barn doors. Two large hydro doors were chosen for the ease of moving equipment. The large open clear span allowed for an open shop area to easily access all of the shop space at once.
2017 Hobby Garage of the Year – 2nd Place
The owners were after a unique cabin for their family and friends to enjoy long weekends. This spectacular hobby shop includes a two-car garage, large great room with a stone fireplace, master bedroom and master bath, as well as a 3/4 bath/laundry/utility room. The second story has a loft family room, two bedrooms for guests, as well as a full bathroom. The owners decorated in a hunting theme to showcase their trophies from years of successful hunts. A wrap-around porch was also designed for entertaining and includes a screened-in area just off of the great room.
2017 Livestock Facility of the Year – 2nd Place
This is a beautiful Monitor style post-frame building for the family’s show cattle. Two lean-tos have been added for garage space and cattle stalls. The owners chose to finish the second story for recreational use. The Monitor barn style was selected to keep with the look of an antique barn, but features a metal exterior for low maintenance. Rubber surface flooring was chosen for the main level to provide a softer walking surface.
2016 Commercial Building of the Year – 1st Place
The Burgin’s have built a beautiful wedding venue, the Red Acre Barn, which will attract engaged couples from around the region to share their vows with each other. The interior is impeccably designed with reclaimed barn boards and corrugated steel. A wrap around second story balcony allows guests to look down on the party below. It features everything an event venue needs and more. Inside there are bride and groom areas, a bar, bathrooms, storage, an office, and a kitchen to top it off. The beautiful interior and exterior lend a perfect backdrop for photos of the just married happy couples.
2016 Ag/Workshop Building of the Year – 1st Place
This building will be used to store farm equipment and personal vehicles. Birkinbine’s building is a great example on how to design a post frame building to be extremely functional and good looking. The location of the 4 large garage doors and added convenience of 2 end wall doors makes it easy for the customer to park vehicles and equipment without the need to move several implements to access just one. The awning and main walk through door is in an area where the owner can easily finish off the space for an office or “man cave” without disturbing the traffic pattern
and integrity of his storage space.
2016 Hobby Shop Building of the Year – 1st Place
This building is an exquisite and unique example of a hobby shop. Although it has the possibility to be a residence, the Walkers have built the property for storing prized possessions and hosting social gatherings. The owner also enjoys refurbishing antiques, so a craft room was included in the plan. This project includes a surround-sound movie theater for watching football with friends.
2016 Residential Building of the Year – 1st Place
This building is a unique example of a beautiful home. The structure showcases the versatility of post frame construction, from its custom silo entry with open span ceilings and a one-of-a-kind catwalk to the theatre room. The silo had its own difficulties but our drawing and crew teams worked hard to make this dream a reality for the Marshalls. Built-in the rural Iowa farmland, the owner’s custom designed a plan to portray a barn and completed it with a gorgeous two-story fireplace. The rustic atmosphere is completed by an extravagant open staircase and loft of oak and metal spindles, with oak flooring and tile throughout.
2015 Featured Commercial Building of the Year
This building is for a growing automotive business in Wapello, Iowa. It has allowed the business to expand and offer new services to its customers. Specifically, collision repair is now being performed along
with general mechanic services.
2015 Featured Agriculture Building of the Year
This is a great example of the best of post-frame for agriculture. Features such as a large hydraulic door, overhead doors, slide-door, side-light, acoustic ceiling liner combined with large and small shop areas and cold storage combine to create an extremely versatile building.
2015 Hobby Shop Building of the Year – 3rd Place
The featured building of 2015 is a hobby shop sitting on a beautiful home site with a custom home nearby. Its dimensions fit nicely on the lot and the building adds a lot of versatility. Currently, it is storing a restored 1948 John Deere tractor purchased by the building owner’s grandfather.
2014 Commercial Building of the Year – 3rd Place
Ryan Walker’s building was a great addition to the west end industrial park of Washington, IA and represents the new trend of seed treating by individual dealers. Syngenta Seeds and Ryan Walker teamed up to host a wonderful grand opening where many local farmers came for a presentation and lunch. The building is used for seed storage/treatment, business office, and conference room.
2014 Agricultural Building of the Year – 1st Place
Chris and Keith Ball, owners of Ball Brothers Farms, are a couple of southeast Iowa’s most respected farmers. Their hard work, dedication, and success has allowed them to build this wonderful new shop & office facility. They used premier products from many NFBA member suppliers. They also used advanced modern day post frame methods such as wrapped posts and Kynar paint.
2014 Residential Building of the Year – 1st Place
This structure represents what we see as the single most up-and-coming trend in post frame. We show this project to new customers frequently and it never fails to impress. It offers the perfect combination of living space, exterior leisure space (under the porch), and shop space for items such as lawn mowers, snow-mobiles, trucks, and tractors.
2013 Hobby Shop Building of the Year – 1st Place
Sitting at a beautiful new build site along with a new custom home tucked into a forested cove Springville, Iowa west of Cedar Rapids, it is truly something to be envious of. Andy Duggan’s building has three overhead doors to accommodate everything from his race car trailer and snowmobiles to one of his many dump trucks
used by his business Duggan Trucking.
2013 Commercial Building of the Year – 3rd Place
We are excited to announce that Greiner Buildings has won two Building Of The Year Awards from the National Frame Builders Association. This is a competition that pits our buildings against post-frame builders from all across America. Greiner Buildings has won first place in the Hobby Shop division with Andy Duggan’s 104′ x 72′ x 18′ lined and insulated building. Greiner Buildings has also won third place in the Commercial division with Kelly Heating & Air’s 45′ x 152′ x 19.5′ two story lined and insulated building.
