Greiner Buildings is proud to be recognized by the National Frame Building Association® (NFBA) with the 2024 Building of the Year Award in the Masters Division, Residential category. The award was presented at the NFBA Expo in Knoxville, TN, held April 1–4, 2025, and celebrates our innovation in post-frame construction and custom residential design—especially the elevated treehouse retreat that brought home the win.
Greiner Buildings, Inc., with offices located in Washington, Cedar Rapids, Urbandale, and Kewanee, IL, attended the Expo to broaden their knowledge about new products and innovations that are impacting today’s post-frame industry.
The NFBA Building of the Year Awards consists of 24 categories plus a Judges’ Award. The Building of the Year Awards allows builder member companies of comparable size to compete against each other.
Each of the 12 award categories has two divisions:
Experts: Builders within the NFBA membership categories of $0–6 million in annual gross volume.
Masters: Builders within the NFBA membership categories of over $6 million in annual gross volume.

Our winning build? A 14’x20’x10’ custom post-frame structure that’s sitting 30 feet off the ground, showing off its modern elegance with various window sizing and full-view glass doors. This 1 bedroom, 2 bed, 1 bath treehouse can accommodate up to 4 guests and is equipped with several modern amenities including in-floor heating, high-speed fiber internet, a fully equipped kitchen, and more. The mono slope roof type makes this building one-of-a-kind. Walk out onto the elegant and peaceful wood porch and indulge in the aromatic ambiance of lavender that fills the air.
Judges recognized how the build delivered a high-end experience in a small footprint, blending smart architectural choices with a one-of-a-kind setting.
